The work created by the 104Crew collective (Matteo Liberi, Dartworks, Paride Brown, Dephault, Tenko) takes inspiration from the Latin phrase “Ex Nihilo Nihil Fit”, literally “nothing comes from nothing”. The mural uses this idea to show how every visible form is connected to a previous process, a transformation and a hidden origin.
The artwork represents the continuous cycle of nature: what seems to disappear is transformed and regenerated. For this reason the fish appear underground, ready to be used as natural fertilizer; their nutrients feed the roots and help the plant grow stronger.
At the centre of the mural a large tree rises from this cycle. It grows, evolves and lives, protected by two great mythological figures who become guardians of the environment and of agriculture.
On the right it is possible to recognize the iconography of the goddess Ceres, protector of harvests and life, portrayed among ears of wheat and holding a sickle. On the left, other visual elements such as grapes and vines recall Dionysus, the god of fertility and of the dual nature of life.
The mural invites visitors to observe the invisible processes that sustain nature. Every change is part of a wider balance: what ends can generate something new, and what seems empty can become fertile again.
The work becomes a reflection on memory, regeneration and the passage of time: happy moments pass, but they can return in new forms, just as nature repeats its cycles.
